WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College netted three goals in each half en route to a 6-0 win over Wells College in a United East women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats won their second-straight game to improve to 4-3 overall, 1-2 UE, while the Express fell to 1-7, 1-2.
How it Happened:
Shannon O'Day gave Penn College a 1-0 lead when she took advantage of a failed clear attempt and tapped the ball to the back of the net in seventh minute.
Teagan Willey made it 2-0 moments later after she split three defenders and put the ball in on the right side. Willey later found
Sloane Tressler in the 13
th minute and gave the Wildcats a 3-0 advantage.
Willey netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season when she headed in a cross for
Cassie Johnson in the 55
th minute and later returned the favor by assisting Johnson in the 60
th minute to give PCT a 5-0 lead. Tressler scored her second goal of the game in the 64
th minute after she converted a failed clear into the Wildcats sixth goal of the game.
Inside the Box: Penn College outshot Wells, 35-1, and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Nicole Lichtinger picked up her second career win in goal with a save.
