ABINGTON, Pa. — Returning to United East Conference play for the first time in more than a month, the Penn College men's basketball team posted an 82-65 win at Penn State Abington on Tuesday. Penn College now is 2-8 overall and 2-1 in the conference. PS Abington is 6-4, 0-1.
How it happened: After two early lead changes and a tie at four-all, Abington opened leads of five points twice before the Wildcats responded with a 19-3 run and a 25-14 lead with 7:16 left in the half. During that stretch,
Jesse White scored six points and
Nouhamadou Diallo added five points. Abington pulled back to within a point three times before the half ended with Penn College ahead, 36-32.
A 15-4 start in the second half gave the Wildcats firm control and they opened their largest lead of 19 points at 59-40 with 13:06 left on a 3-pointer by
Max Jackowsky. On the night, Penn College scored 29 points off 23 Abington turnovers and made 11 of 23 (47.8%) 3-point shots.
Inside the box: Jackowsky and
Corey Blackwell each ended with 15 points for Penn College, while
Chris Coyne scored 14 and White 10. Coyne also had a team-best nine rebounds. Darrion Harris led Penn State Abington with 18 points.
