WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 69-45 decision to Morrisville in a United East women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 2-5 United East, 3-11 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 5-2, 9-6.
How it happened: Morrisville took a commanding 13-3 first quarter lead before Penn College rallied in the second quarter. The Wildcats used a 14-3 run to start the second – sparked by seven points from
Maci Ilgen – to take a 17-16 lead on
Aubrey Stetts' layup with 3:14 left before the break. Morrisville answered with a 7-0 spurt to end the quarter ahead 23-17.
The Mustangs outscored Penn College 22-9 in the third and 24-19 in the fourth.
Inside the box: Ilgen led Penn College with 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Kassidi Lenhart added 11 points and
Ja'Quela Dyer pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds.
Cara Walker scored a game-high 19 points for Morrisvile, while three other Mustangs reach double-digits.
