LANCASTER, Pa. — Returning to United East Conference action for the first time in more than a month, the Penn College women's basketball team lost at Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, 74-46. Penn College now is 2-8 overall and 1-2 in the UEC. Lancaster Bible is 6-6, 3-0.
How it happened: Lancaster Bible took an early 6-0 lead and led 22-8 at the end of the first quarter. During the second period, the Chargers led by as many as 19 and were up 37-20 at the half. Lancaster Bible opened its largest lead of 34 points, 64-30, with 1:12 left in the third. In the fourth, Penn College cut its deficit to 25 twice, on a 3-point basket by Kayleigh Miller with 9:26 to go and on a layup by Emily Pardee with 4:32 remaining. That was as close as the Wildcats would get the rest of the way.
Inside the box: Miller led Penn College in scoring with nine points and Maci Ilgen was tops in rebounds with seven. Alaysha Iwais scored 12 points to lead three Lancaster Bible players in double figures.
