ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – St. Mary's broke a 1-1 halftime deadlock with four unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 5-1 win against Penn College in a United East men's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 1-2-1 UE, 2-6-3 overall, while the Seahawks remained unbeaten in the conference at 4-0 and improved to 7-1-4 overall.
How it happened: After St. Mary's took an early 1-0 lead, with an unassisted tally in the 24
th minute,
Matt Neeson finished a pass from
Nathan Schwartz in the 31
st minute to tie the game at 1-1.
The Seahawks fired 20 shots in the second half and found the back of net four times. Penn College keeper
Cole Catherman stopped eight shots in the second half, while the PCT offense managed just one shot.
Inside the box: SMC outshot, 30-3 (15-3 on-goal), and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Catherman finished with 10 saves.
