WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College's men's soccer team lost a 2-1 home United East decision to Penn State Abington on Saturday during Wildcat Weekend. Penn College now is 2-4-1 in the UE and 3-10-3 overall. PS Abington is 4-3 UE, 7-6-3 overall.
How it happened: Penn College led 1-0 at the half before Penn State Abington struck twice in the second half and held on for its win. The Wildcats led in shots, 9-8, although PS Abington led in shots on goal, 6-5, and in corner kicks, 8-5.
Inside the box: Nathan Schwartz put Penn College on the board first with a goal in the 33rd minute, assisted by Cooper Smith. It was Schwartz's first goal of the season. Abington responded with second-half scores in the 59th and 66th minutes for its win. Cole Catherman made four saves in goal for the Wildcats.
