WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up a 1-0 win over Keuka College in a nonconference men's soccer match Tuesday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved to 4-10-2, while the Wolves fell to 3-9-2.
How it happened:
Tad Shellenberger broke a scoreless tie in the 73
rd minute when he launched a shot just right of the goal and into the back of the net. Penn College keeper Braden Eckard preserved the shutout after he stopped a wide-open shot in the 89
th minute.
The Wildcats just missed on two opportunities in the first half when
Clayton Gothel and
Cooper Smith both had shots hit the crossbar in the 24
th and 37
th minutes.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Keuka, 20-3, and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Eckard picked up his first win this season with three stops.
