WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College won its third-straight game with a 6-1 win over Marywood in nonconference women's soccer match Wednesday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved to 8-8-1, while the Pacers fell to 9-6-2.
How it happened: Marywood took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 17
th minute before
Cassie Johnson went back-to-back in the 38
th minute to give Penn College a 2-1 halftime lead.
Johnson fed
Kaelynn Sheetz in the 52
nd minute to make it 3-1 before
Brooke Klinger hit Sheetz in the 72
nd minute to give PCT a 4-1 advantage. Johnson sent a precision pass to Sheetz from 40 yards in the 76
th minute, and Sheetz connected on her 19
th goal of the season and a 5-1 PCT lead. Johnson netted her third goal of the match on a through-ball from
Jaci Hunsberger in the 86
th minute.
Inside the box: Both teams fired 15 shots and had five corner kicks, while the Wildcats put 14 shots on frame and the Pacer had 10.
Morgan Solano picked up her first win with nine saves in goal.
