WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up its first win this season with a 72-45 victory over Mount Aloysius in a nonconference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 1-2, while the Mounties fell to 0-3.
How it happened: Penn College built a 16-7 lead on a Rachel Teats layup with 3:47 left in the first and led 25-10 at the end of the period. The Wildcats outscored MAC, 16-11, in the second to lead 41-21 at halftime.
The Wildcats outpaced the Mounties, 15-7, in the third, while MAC held a slight, 17-16, advantage in the fourth.
Inside the box: Lexi Troup scored a game-high, and career-high, 12 points for Penn College and Ja'Quela Dyer added 10.
Three players reached double-figures for the Mounties.
