SCRANTON, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 73-43 decision to Marywood in a nonconference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-2, while the Pacers improved to 1-0.
How it happened: Penn College took an early 4-0 lead, after buckets from Aubrey Stetts and Rachel Teats, and led for the final time with a pair of Allie Troup free throws gave the Wildcats a 6-4 lead with 5:45 left in the first. Marywood ended the period with an 8-0 run to lead 12-6 after one. The Pacers edged Penn College, 16-14, in the second and led 28-20 at halftime.
Marywood exploded for 28 in the third and held PCT to nine and outscored the Wildcats, 17-14, in the fourth.
Inside the box: Stetts led Penn College with 12 points and Teats finished with 10.
Four players reached double-figures for Marywood, led by Abbey McGee's game-high 16.
