Barrett records triple-double in setback to King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Penn College surrendered a nine-point halftime lead in a 104-99 loss to King's College in a nonconference men's basketball game Monday. The Wildcats fell to 4-5, while the Monarchs improved to 4-6.

How it happened: The opening five minutes featured several lead changes, and four ties, before Penn College broke a 16-16 deadlock with a 16-4 run – including eight from Max Jackowsky - to take a 32-20 lead on Nouhamadou Diallo's three with 9:52 left in the half. King's made it a two-point game late in the half, but the Wildcats finished the final minute with seven unanswered points to lead 47-38 at halftime.

King's opened the second with a 9-2 spurt to pull within two, 49-47, with 17:49 on the clock. Gavin Barrett's trey at 14:20 gave PCT a 60-55 lead before the teams went back-and-forth and the game was tied for the final time, 77-77, with 6:56 left in the game.  King's netted the next 11 points and its lead never dipped below three.

Inside the box: Barrett recorded his second triple-double of the season, and fourth of his career, with 22 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. Jackowsky picked up a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Will Sulesky added 19 points, and Diallo and Obens Luxama both finished with 13.

Will Johnson led King's with a game-high 26 points.
