LANCASTER, Pa. – Penn College fell 88-66 to Lancaster Bible College in a United East men's basketball contest Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1 UE, 4-4 overall, while the Chargers improved to 1-0, 3-2.
How it happened: LBC jumped out to a 16-0 lead seven minutes into the game. Penn College got within seven on three different occasions, with the final one coming on
Alec Cooper's layup with 24 seconds left that made it 36-29.
A pair of
Rees Watkins layups tied the game at 47, with 12:58 to play, before the Chargers responded with a 14-2 run to take a 61-49 lead with 10:48 left in the game. LBC held a double-digit advantage the remainder of the game.
Inside the box:
Gavin Barrett finished with a team-high 21 points for Penn College, dished out six assists, and grabbed six rebounds, while Watkins finished with 10 points.
