LANCASTER, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 51-41 decision to Lancaster Bible College in a United East women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1 UE, 1-5 overall, while the Chargers improved to 1-0, 4-1.
How it happened: Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter and LBC held a 7-3 advantage after the first. After the Chargers took a 13-3 lead with 7:14 left in the second, Penn College answered with a 6-0 run to pull within four, 13-9, after a
Rachel Teats free throw with 3:38 before halftime. LBC ended the half with a 17-11 lead.
Emily Pardee's jumper early in third made it 19-17, but the Chargers answered with a 10-0 run and eventually a 32-23 lead at the end of the third. LBC edged Penn College, 19-18, in the fourth.
Inside the box: Teats picked up her first double-double this season with a team-high 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Pardee finished with 10 points for Penn College.
