Barrett’s second triple-double helps Wildcats top Berks

READING, Pa. — With Gavin Barrett posting his second triple-double of the season at Penn State Berks in United East action on Friday, the Penn College men's basketball team posted a 90-60 win that improved its record to 5-14 overall and 5-7 in the conference. PS Berks is 0-16, 0-9.
 
How it happened: After a tight first three minutes, Penn College started to get some separation after a 3-point shot by Max Jackowsky and layup by Gavin Barrett opened a 15-8 lead with 15:56 left in the first half. Berks fought back and regained the lead at 29-28 with 9:45 showing before the Wildcats went on a 13-0 run to take charge and led 48-37 at the half.
 
Penn College scored the first five points of the second half and opened its first 20-point lead at 63-43 with 15:13 left on a 3-pointer by Chris Coyne. Before it was over, the Wildcats led by 32 twice before winning by 30.
 
Inside the box: Coyne topped three Penn College players scoring in double figures with 21, while Barrett totaled 17 and Jackowsky 14. Barrett led the Wildcats with 11 rebounds and handed out 10 assists to claim his second triple-double, the first of which came on Jan. 25, also against Berks.
 
Hassan Koroma led Penn State Berks with 13 points.
