Wildcats go 2-1 at home quad meet

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College finished 2-1 at its own quad meet Saturday to improve to 5-9. The Wildcats knocked off Pitt-Bradford, 35-16, and Keystone College, 35-12, and had a 35-17 setback to Centenary University.

Against Pitt-Bradford,
Penn College built a 29-0 lead with three forfeits and two bonus point wins. Ryan Berstler picked up a fall in 1:55 at 125, and Nicholas Semon earned an 18-0 technical fall in 2:03 at 149. The Panthers earned wins at 165 and 174 to make it 29-7 before Garrett Storch earned the final win for Penn College with a fall in 4:21 at 184. Pit-Bradford won the final two bouts.

Against Centenary,
After receiving a forfeit at 125, Penn College dropped the next four bouts and trailed 20-6. Jesse Walkers's pin in 4:47 at 165 made it 20-12 but Centenary took the next three matches to increase its lead to 35-12. Derek Kallenborn earned an 18-0 technical fall in 5:38 at 285 to end the match.

The Wildcats started the match with three-straight pins from Berstler, Patrick Stokes, and Colin Jens to take an 18-0 lead. A forfeit at 149 gave the Wildcats 24-0 advantage before the Giants got on the board with a decision at 157.

Anton Esterbrook's 6-2 decision at 165 gave Penn College a 27-3 lead and Keystone followed with a fall at 174. Jesse Walker titled his way to a 16-0 technical fall at 184 and Garrett Storch battled for a 5-1 decision at 197 for the Wildcats.
