Penn College drops decision to Alfred University

ALFRED, N.Y. – Penn College was dealt a 14-6 setback to Alfred University in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Thursday. The Wildcats fell to 2-4, while the Saxons remained unbeaten at 3-0.

How it happened: Alfred jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the second quarter before Penn College rallied with three-straight scores – from Devin Page, Quinn Caviola, and Sam Hills – to pull within one, 4-3, with 4:50 left in the second. The Saxons answered with a trio goals to lead 7-3 before Trevor Soli momentarily stopped their momentum with an unassisted tally with 12:50 left in the third to make it 7-4. AU netted the next five goals to take a 12-4 lead before the teams traded the final four goals, with James Thatcher and Guerin San Agustine twitching twine for the Wildcats.

Inside the box: Hills, Thatcher, and Stoli paced Penn College with a goal and an assist each.

James Cella picked up 10 saves in goal for Penn College.

Up next: Penn College's scheduled game at Bryn Athyn Saturday was postponed. The Wildcats will return to action Wednesday, 4 p.m., hosting Alvernia.
