IMMACULATA, Pa. — In nonconference men's lacrosse action on Saturday at Immaculata University, Penn College scored an 8-5 win. Penn College improved to 2-3. Immaculate is 1-1.
How it happened: Penn College took a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals by James Thatcher at 12:26 and Quinn Caviola at 6:15. Immaculate knotted the score at 2-all with 8:23 to go in the second frame before Sam Hills put the Wildcats back in front at 6:41. The score stood 3-3 at the half after the home team added another goal at 4:59. The second half belonged to Penn College as it scored three times in the third period and twice in the fourth, while limiting Immaculate to one goal in each of the last two quarters. Hills broke the halftime tie with his second goal with 12:02 left in the third and the Wildcats never trailed again.
Inside the box: Hills closed out the day with three goals and an assist for Penn College, while Brendan Kuczma tallied twice. Dylan Klemas won seven of 14 faceoffs. James Cella made six saves in goal to earn the win for the Wildcats. Penn College led in shots, 39-25, and in shots on goal, 30-11.
