AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College completed a three-game sweep over Wells College after winning the final two games Sunday in a United East baseball doubleheader. The Wildcats improved to 8-3 UE, 14-10 overall after an 11-2 win in the first game and 10-3 victory in game two.
Inside the box: Penn College totaled 15 hits in the second game, led by
Jake Wagner's three.
Jacob Carles,
Cameron Dick,
Shane Price, and
Matt Bailor all picked up two hits.
Kolten Smith launched a solo homer for the Wildcats, while Wagner and Dick both picked up two doubles, and Carles and Bailor each added a double. Carles, Dick, Price, and Bailor all batted in two runs.
Chance Webb improved to 3-1 after 5.1 innings on the bump. He scattered two hits, allowed two earned runs, struck out 11, and walked three.
Brian Robison's three-run blast in the second and four hits by both Carles and Nathaniel Gutskey at the plate, highlighted the Wildcats offense in game one. Dick, Smith, and Price all finished with two hits.
Ben Bretzman improved to 2-3 following six innings of work. He allowed two earned runs, on seven hits, with 10 strikeouts, and one walk.
