WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn College concluded their three-game series with Gallaudet University in convincing fashion on Tuesday evening, as they defeated the Bison 11-3. The Wildcats extended their winning streak to five-games and now stand at 15-10 overall and 9-3 in United East Conference play. The Bison fell to 5-23 overall and 1-11 UEC.
How it Happened: Trailing 1-0 after one inning of play, Penn College plated three runs in the top of the second inning thanks in part to a
Kolten Smith two-RBI triple to right center. Smith would go on to score on a passed ball for the Wildcats third and final run of the inning. In the top of the sixth inning
Jacob Carles increased the Wildcats lead to 5-2 on a RBI single to right center. Leading 7-2 in the top of th ninth inning Smith put the game to rest with a three run shot to left field to make it a 10-2 Wildcats advantage.
Inside the Box: Smith paved the way for the Wildcats from the plate with a 2-for-4 performance including a triple, home run and five RBI's.
Brian Robison also had two hits on the afternoon.
Gabe Reptsik picked up the win allowing one hit in 1.1 innings of work.
The Wildcats return to home on Friday afternoon with a crucial series opener against UEC rival Penn State Abington. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
