Penn College Drops Two Against Penn State Abington

WILLIAMSPORT, PA: Penn College dropped a pair of games against Penn State Abington on Friday afternoon.  The Wildcats lost game one 14-0 and game two 14-3.  The Wildcats fall to 15-12 overall and 9-5 in the United East Conference.  The Nittany Lion's improved to 21-9 overall and 10-4 in the UEC.

How it happened: In game one, Penn College's offense was stymied by Abington's starting pitcher Jaden Himmelreich.  Himmelreich pitched a complete game three hitter as the Nittany Lion's won by a score of 14-0.

In game two, after falling behind 4-0 the Wildcats plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Kolten Smith single down the right field line to close the gap to 4-2.  Penn College had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of sixth inning when they loaded the bases; however, Jake Wagner flew out to left to end the inning.  Penn State Abington put the game to rest in the final two innings as they scored 10 runs to extend their lead to 14-3.

In the box: Shane Price and Nathan Gustkey each recorded two hits in game two.

Penn College and Penn State Abington conclude their season series tomorrow morning at home with an 11:00 am first pitch.
