Price Grand Slam Propels Wildcats to Split vs. Penn State Altoona

WILLIAMSPORT, PA: After losing game one by a score of 3-2, Penn College salvaged the doubleheader split by beating Penn State Altoona 7-3 in game two.  Penn College improves to 18-15 on the season while Penn State Altoona sees their record stand at 14-18.

In Game One: After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, Penn College scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI groundout to third by Tyler Rudolph to trim the Penn State Altoona lead to 2-1.  Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Wildcats loaded the bases with two outs but the Nittany Lions were able to get out of the jam as Anthony Barbella flew out to left.  Zach Ellis (0-2) took the loss on the mound allowing three runs and four hits in 5.2 innings of work.  Rudolph finished 2-for-3 at the plate with both RBI's.

In Game Two:  Leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Wildcats Shane Price put the game out of reach launching a grand slam well beyond the left field fence.  Andrew Snyder (1-0) picked up his first win of the season allowing two runs on two hits while striking out two.  Penn College had five hits in game two with Jake Wagner leading the way with a 2-for-4 performance and one run scored.

Penn College returns to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon when they visit Mt. Aloysius College for a single game starting at 4:00 pm.
