AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College swept a United East doubleheader softball contest against Wells College Friday. The Wildcats improved to 9-1 United East, 13-6 overall following a 29-0 win in game one and a 20-0 victory in the nightcap.
Inside the box: In game one,
Olivia Hemstock led Penn College at the plate by going 4 of 6, with six RBI and three runs scored.
Maddie Hurst added three hits, four RBI, and six runs scored,
Margaret Mangene was 3 of 4, with three RBI, and
Jordan Specht finished with two hits.
Kyla Benner improved to 7-3 after three innings of no-hit pitching. She struck out four and walked one.
Taylor Cashner finished the final two innings, allowing one hit, with four strikeouts, and one walk.
In game two, Benner and
Hailey DeBrody both finished with four hits and Specht added three hits.
Mackenzie Weaver improved to 6-2 after three innings of no-hit pitching. She struck out seven and walked no batters. DeBrody finished off the game in the circle, allowing one hit, with four strikeouts, and one walk.
