AURORA, N.Y. — Penn College opened a three-game weekend United East baseball series at Wells College on Saturday with a 13-0 win. Penn College now is 6-3 in the conference and 12-10 overall. Wells is 2-7 in the UE and 6-16 overall.
How it happened: Cameron Dick hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, Brian Robison had a two-run double to right in the second inning, and Tyler Rudolph had a two-run homer in the third and a two-run double to left in the eighth to highlight an 18-hit Wildcat attack. On the mound for Penn College, starter Zak Weaver allowed three hits in seven shutout innings of work. Wells committed four errors in the game.
Inside the box: Rudolph finished 4 for 5 at the plate with five RBIs and three runs scored, while Shane Price was 4 for 5 with three doubles and four runs scored. Also, Nate Gustkey added three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Weaver improved to 3-1 in getting the "W" and Gabe Reptsik finished up with two innings of one-hit relief.
