WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – King's College netted a pair of unanswered goals in the second half to edge Penn College, 3-2, in a nonconference women's soccer match Thursday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Monarchs improved to 1-0.
How it happened: Ashley Dukehart put King's on the board with an unassisted tally in the fifth minute before
Sara Darlington found
Cassie Johnson in the 14
th minute to even the score at 1-1.
Teagan Willey put the Wildcats ahead, 2-1, early in the second half with an unassisted goal in the 47
th minute before the Monarchs added scores in the 57
th and 61
st minutes.
Inside the box: King's outshot Penn College, 19-10, and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Tara Bender turned away five shots in goal for the Monarch's while
Nicole Lichtinger stopped eight shots for Penn College.
