WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Wilkes scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-1 victory over Penn College in a nonconference women's soccer match Saturday.
The Wildcats fell to 0-2, while the Colonels improved to 1-1.
How it happened: Wilkes scored early in the game with a goal in the second minute.
Riley Reed made it 1-1 in the fifth minute with her first goal of the season.
The Colonels responded with a pair of scores to lead 3-1 at the break.
Wilkes added three unanswered in the second half.
Inside the box: Wilkes outshot Penn College, 32-7 (18-3 on goal) and held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Morgan Solano stopped 12 shots in goal for Penn College.
Up next: The Wildcats return to action Monday at Geneva College.
