Beaver Falls, Pa. – Geneva College broke a 1-1 halftime deadlock, with a pair of scores in the second half, en route to a 3-1 over Penn College in a nonconference women's soccer match Monday. The Wildcats fell to 0-3, while the Golden Tornadoes improved to 1-1-1.
How it happened: Penn College jumped out to an early lead with a goal at the 2:00 minute mark when
Wiley Egan scored on a pass from
Kaelynn Sheetz. Geneva responded with a goal in the 40th minute to enter halftime locked up at 1-1. The Golden Tornadoes added two more goals in the second half and the Wildcats failed to respond as Geneva went on to win, 3-1.
Inside the box: Geneva outshot Penn College 23-15 (10-2 on-goal), and held an 10-5 edge in corner kicks.
Nicole Lichtinger turned away seven shots in goal for Penn College.
