WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up its first conference win of the season with a 3-0 shutout against Gallaudet in a United East men's soccer match Saturday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved to 1-1-1 UE, 2-4-3 overall, while the Bison fell to 1-2, 2-4-1.
How it happened:
Tommy DeGeyter gave Penn College an early 1-0 lead when he converted a penalty kick in the 23
rd minute.
Clayton Gothel netted an unassisted shot in the 38
th minute to give PCT a 2-0 halftime advantage. The Wildcats added their final goal in the 49
th minute when DeGeyter split a pair of defenders on the left side and found
Dylan Dailey on the right for Dailey's fourth score of the season.
Inside the box: Penn College out shot Gallaudet, 15-7 (6-3 on-goal) and both teams had one corner kick.
Cole Catherman turned away three shots in goal for the Wildcats.
