AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College fell 79-64 to Wells College in a United East men's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 1-4 UE, 6-8 overall, while the Express improved to 4-2, 9-6.
How it happened: Trailing 39-32 at the break, Penn College tied the game at 39-39 on
Will Sulesky's jumper two minutes into the second half. Wells countered with a 48-40 lead two minutes later before a pair of
Max Jackowsky free throws evened the game at 50 with 12:46 on the clock. Following three more deadlocks, the final one coming on a
Rees Watkins trey to make it 61-61 with 5:51 left, Wells, ended the game with an 18-3 run.
Inside the box:
Alec Cooper finished with a team-high 12 points, while
Gavin Barrett and Watkins both finished with 11 points for Penn College. Barrett grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and dished out a game-high five assists.
Terrance Clayton-Murphy netted a game-high 28 points for Wells.
