MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Penn College dropped an 84-78 decision to Morrisville in a United East men's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 3-6 UE, 8-10 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 6-4, 10-8.
How it happened: Morrisville led the entire first half, while Penn College managed to get as close as two on two separate occasions. A
Livingston Cross layup with 11:09 remaining made 16-14, while
Gavin Barrett's trey a minute later made it 19-17. The Mustangs led by as many as 11 before taking a 43-37 advantage into the locker room.
Will Sulesky's traditional three-point play tied the game at 47 early in the second half before the Wildcats took their final lead, 69-67, on a Cross free throw with 5:56 left in the game. Morrisville answered with a 15-9 run to end the game.
Inside the box: Five Wildcats reached double-digits in scoring, led by Cross' 15 points. Barrett and
Max Jackowsky both finished with 14, Sulesky added 13, and Alex Copper contributed with 10.
