WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped an 83-80 decision to Wells College in a United East men's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 3-7 United East, 8-10 overall, while the Express improved to 6-4, 11-8.
How it happened: After five lead changes to start the game, Penn College took an 18-8 lead on
Alec Cooper's layup with 12:49 on the clock. The Wildcats held at least a two-possession lead for the rest of the half and took a 42-35 advantage into the locker room.
Wells opened the second half with 12-2 run, and a 47-44 lead, with 17:35 remaining in the game. Penn College answered with a 5-0 spurt and its final lead, 49-47, on
Gavin Barrett's traditional three-point play with 15 minutes left in the game. The Express held onto the lead the remainder of the contest.
Inside the box:
Livingston Cross scored a team-high 19 points for Penn College, while
Rees Watkins added 14, Copper 13, and Barrett 12.
Billy McCrae netted a game-high 28 for Wells.
