WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Hosting winless Wells College in a United East women's basketball game on Tuesday, Penn College never trailed in scoring a 78-24 victory. Penn College improved to 6-4 in the UE and 7-12 overall, while Wells dropped to 0-10 UE, 0-19 overall.
How it happened: With
Rachel Teats and
Aubrey Stetts pacing the early offense, Penn College grabbed a 17-5 first-quarter lead, and then used 3-point goals by
Kayleigh Miller and
Maddie Adams, respectively, to open and close the scoring in an 18-8 second quarter for a 35-13 lead at the half.
Stetts and
Allie Troup each scored six points in the third frame as the Wildcats outscored the Chargers 23-2 and extended their lead to 43 points at 58-15. In the fourth, Penn College led by as many as 57 points at 74-17 before winning by 54 and taking the season series 2-0.
Inside the box: Adams scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats, while
Shelby Pyatt tallied 12, Miller 11 and Stetts 10.
Eliza Newcomer had a team-high 11 rebounds for Penn College and Teats dished out nine assists.
Morgan Adams led Wells with 10 points.
