AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College dealt Wells College a 6-0 setback in a nonconference men's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 6-3-2, while the Express fell to 0-6-2.
How it happened: Tommy Degeyter gave PCT an early 1-0 lead when he converted a penalty kick in the eighth minute.
Cooper Smith put the Wildcats ahead 2-0 just before halftime with an unassisted goal in the 34
th minute.
Clayton Gothel found
Tad Shellenberger in the 48
th minute to make it 3-0, before Shellenberger hooked up with Dylan Daily in the 52
nd to add to PCT's lead, 4-0.
Tyler Weimert converted a
Nathan Schwartz pass in the 71
st minute and
Brendan Geiger found the back of the net a minute later for the final score of the game.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Wells, 34-1, and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
