SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Penn College's 23rd-ranked wrestling team placed seventh in an 18-team field that included four other nationally-ranked Division III teams and had an individual second- and third-place finisher at the Doug Parker Invitational on Saturday.

Isaac Cory, ranked fourth in D-III at 184 pounds and seeded No. 1 at his weight in the tournament, ended his day with a 3-1 record and finished second after he forfeited his championship match against second-seeded NYU's Trent Furman, while Noah Hunt, seeded fourth at 141, went 3-1 on the day (losing only to top-seeded and fifth-ranked Xavier Pena, of Centenary, who went on to claim the title) and placed third. Hunt's biggest win on the day came in the quarterfinals with a tech fall over the sixth-ranked wrestler in the Northeast Region, Sailen Savur of Wesleyan.

Also for the Wildcats Patrick Snoke went 5-1 at 141, while Kaden Ware at 133 went 3-2 with his only losses coming to the No. 13 and No. 14 ranked wrestlers in the country. TJ Martin (149) went 3-2 and turned around another early season defeat from the Ithaca Invitational against Springfield's Luke Temple. Martin trailed the entire bout before picking up a seven-point move in the final 20 seconds for a 13-12 win.

Cavin Napoletano was the leading point-scorer for the Wildcats at 157 pounds. Napoletano earned three wins on the day and his two losses were to returning All-American and current No. 2 Peter Kane of Williams College and CJ Shea (ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Northeast Region) of Wesleyan. Freshmen Travis Green (165), Cade Schneck (174) and Nicholai Brotzman (285) all finished with 3-2 records to collect quality points in the team race. Schneck found a rhythm at 174lbs with three first-period falls over Jalen Charles of Southern Maine, Zach Borzio of Williams College, and Colin Hile of Plymouth State.

In his collegiate debut, freshman Luke Heimbach at 125, and CJ Trimber, at 133, both went 2-2, while Michael Sandacz at 125, Anton Easterbrook at 157, Logan Ledebohm at 157 and Mason Leshock at 165 all earned one win.
