WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College earned its second consecutive win in a 54-46 victory over Keuka College in a nonconference women's basketball game Friday. The Wildcats improved to 3-6, while the Wolves fell to 1-7.
How it happened: Trailing 7-6 after the first quarter, Penn College opened the second quarter with a 14-4 run to take a 20-11 lead on a
Rachel Teats layup with 4:18 left in the quarter. A pair of Teats free throws with 2:14 on clock gave the Wildcats their largest lead of the quarter, 23-13, before taking a 24-16 advantage into the break.
Penn College held at least a two-possession lead for the entire third quarter and took its largest lead of the game when
Kayleigh Miller's jay made it 38-24 with 1:48 on the clock, before ending the quarter ahead 38-26. The Wildcats held a double-digit lead for the majority of the fourth quarter before Keuka made it a six-point game, 48-42, with 1:44 left in the game. Penn College iced the game by hitting 6 of 8 free throws in the final minute of the game.
Inside the box: Teats finished with a game-high 25 points, on 8 of 14 shooting from the field and 7 of 8 from the line and pulled down six defensive rebounds.
Emily Pardee grabbed a game-high seven rebounds and added eight points.
