Penn College Falls at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. — Penn College lost, 15-8, at Shenandoah University in nonconference men's lacrosse on Saturday. Penn College now is 5-2, while Shenandoah is 2-4.

How it happened: Goals by Trey Soli and Camden Elmo gave the Wildcats an early lead in the opening period before Shenandoah came back in the last three minutes to tie the score at two-all. Sam Hills put Penn College back on top with a goal in the second quarter, but Shenandoah responded with four consecutive goals to jump ahead, 6-3. Goals by Quinn Caviola and Elmo brought the Wildcats back within one with 34 seconds left in the half, then Shenandoah struck again with four seconds remaining to lead 7-5 at the intermission.

Shenandoah stretched its lead to 11-6 with a four-goal third quarter and the home-team Hornets outscored the Wildcats 4-2 in the fourth for their seven-goal victory.

Inside the box: Elmo finished with two goals for Penn College, while Matt Daniel and Max Myers each scored four goals for Shenandoah. The Hornets led on shots, 43-32, and forced 20 Wildcat turnovers while committing 15.

Up next: Penn College hosts Immaculata University in nonconference play at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
