WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Penn College extended their win streak to three games with a doubleheader sweep of Gallaudet University on Friday afternoon. The Wildcats won game one 4-2 and game two 9-7. The wins push the Wildcats overall record to above .500 at 9-8 (4-1 UEC) while the Bison drop to 7-16 (1-4 UEC).
In game one,
Leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning,
Tyler Rudolph ripped an RBI double to right that scored
Quinn Hanafin from second to extend the Wildcats lead to 3-0. The Bison pushed a run across the plate in the top of the fourth to make it a 3-1 game. Hanafin hit an RBI triple that bounced right before the left center wall in the bottom half of the fourth to once again give the Wildcats a three-run lead at 4-1.

Justin Porter (1-0) continued to pitch well this season in notching his first win of the season. Porter allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings. He struck out six and walked just one batter.
Keegan Nytz picked up the save working out of a one out bases loaded jam in the top of the seventh. Nytz induced a game ending double play when
Anthony Barbella caught a fly ball in right for out number two before a great relay throw by Rudolph nailed the Bison runner at home who was trying to tag from third, ending the game.
In game two,
The Bison jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first and one in the top of the second.
Cameron Dick's single in the bottom of the second put Penn College on the board and
Jacob Carles' sacrifice fly in the third made it a one-run game.
The Wildcats exploded for five runs in the fourth on RBIs from
Jake Wagner,
Quinn Hanafin, and Carles, and a two-run error by Gallaudet. The Bison pulled within two with a pair of runs in the sixth before Carles got those runs back on a two-run single in the bottom of the frame. The Bison added a pair of unearned runs in the seventh.
Carles and Gustkey both finished with two hits for Penn College and Carles brought in four runs.
Ben Bretzman improved to 2-2 after coming in in the fourth and firing six innings. He allowed no earned runs, on four hits, with seven strikeouts, and two walks.
Up next: Penn College travels to Washington D.C. on Sunday to complete the three game series with Gallaudet. First pitch will take place at 2:00 PM.
