Penn College falls to Cairn

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 24-8 decision to Cairn in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 10-9, while the Highlanders improved to 6-11.

How it happened: Shane Price's single in the top of the first gave Penn College a 1-0 lead before Cairn answered with four in the bottom of the frame. Quinn Hanafin's two-run single in the second pulled PCT within one, 4-3, before Cairn tacked on three in the bottom of the second. A bases-loaded walk from Brian Robison in the third plated a run for Penn College but the Highlander scored 13 runs in the next three innings.

Inside the box: Eleven different players picked up a hit for Penn College, while Hanafin and Ethan Stahl brought in a team-high two runs. Jonas McGrath fell to 0-3 after two innings of work on the mound.

Up next: Penn College is scheduled to return to action Friday, April 7 hosting Wells College.
