ST. MARY'S, MD – Penn College dropped a 29-7 decision to St. Mary's in a United East men's lacrosse game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1 UE, 5-1 overall, while the Seahawks improved to 1-0, 5-2.
How it happened: St. Mary's took an early 3-0 lead before
Isaac Hernandez put Penn College on the board with a tally with 10:09 left in the first.
Ben Malarkey's goal with 7:59 left made it 4-3 and
Croix Teter twitched twine with 1:23 on the clock to get the Wildcats within two, 5-3.
The Seahawks exploded with 10 straight goals in the second quarter and scored the first two on the third to lead 18-3.
Sam Hills stopped the onslaught with a goal with 13:18 left in the third but St. Mary's answered with five-straight to take a 23-5 advantage.
