MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Penn College dropped an 18-13 decision to Morrisville in a United East men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 1-2 United East, 9-3 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 1-0, 5-3.
How it happened: Morrisville built a 7-2 lead after the first quarter, and led by as many as nine, 11-2, midway through the second. The Wildcats ended the final four minutes of the half by outscoring the Mustangs, 4-1, on two goals from
Quinn Caviola, and one from A.J. Dotson and
Sam Hills to trail 12-6 at the break.
Morrisville began the second half with four-straight goals and took a 16-6 advantage with 7:45 on the clock, and led 17-7 at the end of the third. Penn College outscored the Mustangs 6-1 in in the fourth.
Inside the box: Hills led Penn College with six goals, while Caviola added three, and
Harrison Schlachta, and Dotson scored a pair.
James Cella and
Chad Szatkowski combined for 18 saves in goal.
Up next: The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Kean University.
