WILLIAMSPORT, PA – In a showdown of the top two teams in the United East Conference the Wildcats swept Penn State Berks by the scores of 9-2 and 3-1. The Wildcats record moves to 26-8 overall and 18`-4 in the United East. Berks drops to 23-7 and 18-4 in conference play.
In game one,
A first-inning RBI groundout by
Lexi Snyder got the Wildcats on the board 1-0. The Wildcats padded their lead with a four run third inning, thanks to an RBI single by
Jordan Specht, a two-run single by
Ivvy Morder and an RBI double by
MacKenzie Weaver. Specht continued to impress from the plate in the bottom of the fourth when she crushed a three-run homer to right center to extend the Wildcats lead to 8-0 after five-innings of play. Berks plated two runs in the top of the fifth on a two-run homer to close the deficit to 8-2. Penn College added one additional insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a Morder RBI single to left center.

In a battle of aces in the circle
MacKenzie Weaver (14-4) picked up the win allowing two runs (one earned) and four hits. Weaver fanned three and walked just one.
Maddie Hurst,
Margaret Mangene, Morder and Specht all had two hits in the game. Specht finished with four RBI's while Morder added three.
In game two,
Margaret Mangene laced a two-run to single to center in the bottom of the second to give the Wildcats an early 2-0 lead.
Maddie Hurst plated Mangene with an RBI single in the fourth-inning to pad the Wildcats lead at 3-0. Penn State Berks cut into the lead with a solo homer in the top of the fifth-inning, however that would be the closest they would get as
Kyla Benner and
MacKenzie Weaver combined to allow just four hits and one run.
Inside the box:
Kyla Benner notched her 10
th win of the season allowing four hits and one run while striking out two. Weaver pitched two scoreless innings of relief. Mangene finished a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBI's.
Lexi Snyder added a pair of hits as Penn College outhit Berks 8-4.
