WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Penn College's women's volleyball team dropped its season opener, 3-1, at King's College on Friday. The Wildcats now are 0-1 and King's is 1-0.
How it happened: King's took the first two games by scores of 26-24 and 25-17 before Penn College won the third, 26-24. King's then took the finale, 25-17.
Inside the box: Marianna Dariychuk led the Wildcats with 13 kills and
Coryn Oswald had 11.
Cheyenne Stein topped the team with four service aces and 31 assists.
Anna Reed, Dariychuk and
Maggie Mangene had double digits in digs with 19, 13 and 12, respectively. Dariychuk was the team leader with 14 points and Oswald had 12.
Up next: Penn College travels to Delaware Valley University on Saturday for a tri-match against Penn State York at 1 p.m. and Delaware Valley at 3 p.m.
