WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College snapped a four-game winning streak following a 3-2 setback to King's College in a nonconference men's soccer match Thursday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats fell to 5-3-1, while the Monarchs improved to 3-4.
How it happened: Penn College struck off the whistle when
Austin Stapleton found his brother, Logan, 14 seconds into the match to put the Wildcats ahead 1-0. King's netted the equalizer in the 18
th minute before PCT went ahead 2-1 just before the break.
Jimmy Friedman's header off of
Spencer Price's free kick found the right side of the net in the 41
st minute.
The Monarchs made it 2-2 in the 62
nd minute and scored the go-ahead goal when a direct kick was fumbled by the keeper and was deemed to have crossed the plane to make it 3-2.
Inside the box: Penn College out shot Kings 10-6, while KC had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
