Lenosky Lifts Wildcats Over Gators

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Penn College's Jack Lenosky converted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 88th minute helping the Wildcats to a 3-2 United East Conference victory over first-time opponent Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 3-1-0 against conference opponents, 8-4-1 overall. The Gators fell to 2-4-0 UE, 3-9-0 overall.

How it happened: Penn College benefitted from two fouls inside the box on the afternoon as Tommy DeGeyter cashed in on his try in the fourth minute of the game for his team-high fifth goal of the season to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead. The Wildcats added to their lead just before the half when DeGeyter found Jack Lenosky who deposited his first goal of the season just inside the right post at the 41:46 mark.

Notre Dame cut the deficit in half in the 50th minute for a 2-1 score before Lenosky hit the game-winner. The Gators tacked on a second goal with just 43 seconds left in the match.

Inside the box: DeGeyter finished the afternoon with three points while taking three shots (2 on-goal) and Cole Catherman stopped four shots to earn the victory. Penn College held a 17-11 shot advantage (7-6 on-goal) and lined up for five corners.
