BALTIMORE, Md. – Penn College scored five goals in the second half to secure a 5-0 win over College of Notre Dame in a United East women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats remained unbeaten at 3-0-1 United East, 10-0-4 overall, while the Gators fell to 1-2-1, 2-7-1.
How it happened: Following a scoreless first half, Penn College's offense exploded in the second.
Sierra Klinger put the Wildcats on the board with an unassisted tally in the 56
th minute before
Wiley Egan scored back-to-back goals in the 69
th and 78
th minutes.
Megan Kurian assisted on Egan's first score and later scored the final two goals for Penn College.
Kurian's first score was netted in the 86
th minute when
Cassie Johnson fed Kurian for her conference-best 12
th assist of the season. Kurian's final tally was unassisted in the 88
th minute.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot ND, 48-3 (21-1 on-goal) and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Nicole Lichtinger turned away one shot to earn the win goal.
