ABINGTON, Pa. -- Penn College men's soccer fell, 1-0 to Penn State Abington in a United East matchup on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats dropped to 1-1-0 United East, 6-4-1 overall, the Nittany Lions are 2-0 UE, 2-7-2 overall.
How it happened: After a scoreless first half that saw just three shots by the Wildcats and six from the Lions, Abington broke through on a set piece with a header goal in the 67th minute. Penn College looked for the equalizer over the final 23 minutes, but was only able to fire off three shots and just one one goal from
Matt Neeson that was scooped up by the keeper in the 88th minute.
Inside the box: Neeson accounted for two of the Wildcats six shots with one on frame,
Cooper Smith,
Robert Antonini,
Logan Stapleton and
Austin Stapleton were also credited with a shot in the game.
Cole Catherman posted four saves in net for the Wildcats.
Arsene Bado headed in the game-winning goal on a Amerr Yagoub orner kick assist.
