ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn College played to a 0-0 draw against Penn State Abington in a United East women's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats remained unbeaten at 1-0-1 United East, 7-0-4 overall, while the Nittany Lions improved to 0-0-1, 5-4-1.
How it happened: Penn College had one shot on goal in the first half, but
Ashley Gordon's attempt in the second minute was turned away. The Lions sent two balls on frame in the opener, but
Nicole Lichtinger stood tall on both attempts.
The Wildcats saw three scoring chances turn fruitless in the second half when shots from
Sierra Klinger in the 56
th and 64
th minutes, and
Wiley Egan in the 73
rd were stopped. Penn College's defense held Abington to zero shots on goal in the second half.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot the Lions 12-11 (4-2 on-goal), while Abington held an 8-4 advantage on corner kicks. Lichtinger finished with two stops in goal.
