Penn College earns its first victory of the season

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up its first win of the season with a 71-47 victory against Pitt-Bradford in a nonconference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 1-3, while the Panthers fell to 0-3.

How it happened: Following a pair of deadlocks in the opening five minutes, Penn College separated from a 12-12 tie with a 7-0 run – led by Kenni Galbreath's trey, and layups from Lexi Troup and Emily Pardee – to take a 19-12 lead. The Wildcats led 21-14 at the end of the quarter and held the lead the entire second quarter before Pardee's layup gave them a 36-25 halftime lead.

Penn College led by double-digits the entire third quarter and took its largest lead, 51-30, on a Gigi Parlante layup with 2:52 left in the period. The Wildcats led 56-36 at the end of the third and outscored the Panthers, 15-11, in the fourth.
