ABINGTON, Pa. -- Penn College dropped a 91-54 final score at Penn State Abinton in United East women's basketball on Saturday. The Wildcats sit at 2-9 UE, 6-18 overall. Abington is 6-5, 10-14.
How it happened: Penn College got a hot start from a bucket from
Emily Pardee and three straight layups by
Lexi Troup, Pardee and Teats for an 8-6 edge.
Mia Patterson added a layup at the 5:55 mark for a 10-6 lead before Abington went on a 13-0 run.
Kenni Galbreath stopped the run by cashing in a three and Patterson closed out the first quarter with a layup.
The Wildcats clawed back from a second quarter 18-point deficit at the 7:19 mark when
Allie Troup nailed back-to-back threes to get within nine (42-33) and
Keeley Baker dropped a layup to get within seven (42-35) at the half.Â
Abington got back up to a double-digit lead early in the third quarter and maintained its lead to the final buzzer.
Inside the box: Pardee was the lone Wildcat to reach double figures with 10 points while adding three assists and three boards. Patterson finished with a team-best 10 rebounds and had five points.Â
Abinton was led by 26 points from Amirah Hackney.
