WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College baseball split a nonconference doubleheader against Penn State Altoona on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats claimed game one, 8-6 before falling 3-1 in the second outing. The Wildcats are 12-12 while Altoona is 9-12.
In game one,
The two sides battled through three ties before 
Dallas Griess broke a 6-6 game in the sixth inning with a 424-foot two-run home run. 
Jaydon Goebel finished 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBIs and scored twice while 
Brandon Shane and 
Jaiden Augustine both added two hits as all three Wildcats registered a double. 
Sam Staib earned his first win of the season with two scoreless innings of work.
In game two,
The Wildcats were held to just three hits while working for four walks. 
Ethan Stahl knocked in the lone run with an RBI single to score 
Logan Hinnershitz in the fifth inning. 
Gabe Reptsik, 
Ryan Sawyer and 
Ethan Eckard combined for five strikeouts on the mound. 
Up next: Penn College hosts Penn State Abington for a United East series this weekend. First pitch is set for one 3 p.m. game on Saturday and a 12 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday.
