WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College fell to Penn State Abington, 10-2 in a United East Conference baseball series opener on Saturday. The Wildcats dropped to 12-13, 3-4 UE, Abington improved to 10-16, 7-3 UE.
How it happened: Abington took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning before
Matt Munoz cut the Lions lead in half with an RBI triple to score
Adam Aldenderfer in the bottom half of the inning. Abington plated five runs in the fifth and three in the seventh for a 10-1 lead. In the bottom of the ninth,
John Croasdale singled to drive in Munoz for the Wildcats second run.
Inside the box: Munoz went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and
Quinn Hanafin added two hits.
Jonas McGrath struckout six in 4.2 innings of work in the loss.
Josh McGee posted a 3-for-5 day with three RBIs and a run scored for Abington.
